The Tamakani Project – Protecting and Empowering Women and Girls for a Better Future – conducted a field visit to the villages of Disi Basin in Aqaba Governorate to promote legal awareness, develop leadership skills, and expand access to community-based services and activities.

The project team was received by the Chairman of the Disi Basin Municipality Committee, in the presence of Ms. Nidaa Al-Shweikh, Chairperson of Al-Sumo Charitable Association for Care and Entrepreneurship, who introduced the project and highlighted its role in supporting women and girls and strengthening their community participation.

The visit included free legal consultations for women and girls, provided by Dr. Asma Al-Tarawneh at Disi Municipality Hall. It also featured a training workshop on leadership and decision-making skills, delivered by Dr. Qasim Al-Naimat at Al-Tuwaisa Charitable Association. The workshop focused on developing leadership capabilities and strengthening participants’ decision-making skills.

The visit forms part of Tamakani Project’s efforts to reach local communities across Aqaba Governorate by providing awareness-raising activities, legal support, and training opportunities, thereby enhancing women’s and girls’ access to services and opportunities for meaningful community participation.

The project expressed its appreciation to Disi Basin Municipality, Al-Tuwaisa Charitable Association, and all those whose cooperation and efforts contributed to the success of the visit.
