As part of the activities of the Tamakani Project – For Women and Girls for a Better Future, an awareness activity on home gardening was conducted to enhance women’s knowledge and practical skills in making use of available household spaces and encouraging simple and sustainable gardening practices.

The activity highlighted the importance of home gardening and its role in making use of available resources and spaces. It also introduced participants to practical approaches to growing and caring for a range of plants and vegetables, contributing to greater awareness of sustainable practices and household-level food security.

The activity was delivered by Eng. Khaled Al-Adayleh, Chairman of the Aqaba Branch Council of the Jordanian Agricultural Engineers Association, who shared practical knowledge and guidance with the participating women on home gardening, the importance of palm trees, and appropriate methods for caring for and maintaining plants.

The activity forms part of the Tamakani Project’s efforts to provide women and girls with opportunities to learn and acquire practical knowledge and skills, supporting their ability to make effective use of available resources and further develop their capacities in different areas.
